When retrofitting a 5 axis cutting head onto a WARDJet machine it is necessary to raise the cross beam 3". An easy way to do this was to use multiple waterjet cutting heads to cut out blocks in 3.125" thick steel. We then machined the tops and bottoms on our mill. Then off to powder coating making the whole upgrading process a simple formality.
A perfect blend of waterjet cutting and machining to create a part in the most cost effective manner.
